Koh Lanta is about 30km long and 8km wide. It is easy to get there with the ferry from Krabi or Koh Phi Phi Island. The one hour-boat trip takes you to Ban Saladan. Taxi buses and tuktuks will bring you to Papillon from there (only 3km away from Ban Saladan).

The main road goes from Ban Saladan to the south end of the Island. Papillon is located at Long beach, a 4km beach and one of the most beautiful beaches in the Andaman Sea. The beach is also adequate for children: the water goes slighty deeper and there are no rocks in the sea.

The National Park is in the south of Koh Lanta. It’s amazing for jungle trekking and visiting the Tiger cave, the Mai Kaeo Cave and the waterfall. You can do the jungle trek also on the back of an elephant.

With a motorbike you can easily go around the Island. You can rent a motorbike at Papillon.

More than 100 years ago Koh Lanta Old Town was the main town of the Island. It’s very nice to wander around this beautiful rustic historical monument mostly built on stilts. This small town is located in the southeast of the Island. Further south you can visit a gypsy-fisherman village.

Koh Lanta is not only sightseeing. You can visit the Monkey school, the Orchid House or the Butterfly garden. There are also a lot of courses you can follow: Thai Cookery Course, Yoga Lessons, Thai Massage Course, etc ….

The sea around Koh Lanta belongs to the National Marine Park and is protected.

There are many uninhabited Islands around Koh Lanta that can be visited. These Islands have the most beautiful pearl white sand beaches and crystal-clear water. It’s excellent for diving and snorkeling.

The water is clear the whole year and around 28 degrees Celsius.
